2010 Wrestling Camps

Go to a Wrestling Camp!

Short of wrestling a full season and spending hours on end with Coach Miller and Coach Aquino, there is nothing that can improve your wrestling skills like a focused week of of skill building and practice at a summer wrestling camp.

There are lots of camps and programs around, find one that meets your skill needs and schedule.

Technique camps focus on moves skills and give you a plethora of tricks so that you will know what to do when a particular situation presents itself. Instructors will demonstrate a move and then you can practice it with a partner, refinements are added and further practice is done. Every wrestler can benifit from a skills review and most camps will overflow the participants with new ways to deal with wrestling situations.

Competiton camps review skills but focus on live matches.  5 or 6 matches a day can pack a full season of wrestling experience into a single week of camp.

Intensive camps often add extra conditioning and practice times to the mix, building strength and endurance.

An example of a well run camp is The Camp of Champs in Ellensburg, WA which had 150 boys ages 8-18 for the 2009 technique camp and 300 campers for the 2009 team competition camp. There was plenty of opportunity to go over basic skills, learn new moves and test yourself against skilled oponents.

Summer Wrestling Camps

Both new and returning wrestlers are encouraged to attend a wrestling camp this summer.

Heavyweight Clinic Fri & Sat June 26-27th 2009

Attention high school 215 and 285 pounders heavyweights.  With all of the camps that go on throughout the summer, this clinic fits in between some camps and before our National Team has its final camp before going to Fargo for Nationals.  The clinic has turned into a two day mini camp and we will be doing some technique and some live wrestling in the 5 sessions that are scheduled and we’ll be sleeping overnight in our wrestling room.  We are centrally located here in Moses Lake and so it’s a perfect location to allow everyone the opportunity to get to this specialty clinic.
